Investing in Waste Management: Romanian Company Expands to Moldova
A company from Romania, with 30 years of experience in the collection and neutralization of medical and chemical waste, is now looking to invest in the Republic of Moldova. The announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization.
“Good news at the end of the week! A new investor is coming to the Republic of Moldova. It is the Romanian company ‘Sterileco’. And yesterday it took the first official step in this direction: the company was registered with the Public Services Agency,” wrote Dumitru Alaiba.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the arrival of “Sterileco” in the Republic of Moldova not only means new jobs, but also an improvement in the management of hazardous waste.
Currently, the company “Sterileco” operates eight factories in Romania. “We are pleased that the first market chosen for expansion is the Republic of Moldova,” concluded the Deputy Prime Minister.

Over the years, Romania has become one of the main investors in the Republic of Moldova. Currently, there are 1600 registered companies with Romanian capital, with investments in social capital totaling approximately 6.74 billion MDL.
