Record Breaking Tourism Spending Expected in Europe in 2024
A new report by the European Travel Commission (ETC) predicts that tourists will bring a record-breaking 800 billion euros to Europe in 2024. The report, released in the second quarter of 2024 and shared with Bloomberg, confirms that the demand for the region continues to grow.
International tourists are expected to spend a record 800 billion euros in Europe this year, according to the report. This is an increase of 37% compared to pre-pandemic levels of 583 billion euros.
Record-breaking year for tourism in Europe
A new report from the World Tourism Organization of the UN reveals that international tourist arrivals have increased by 6% compared to 2019, setting a new record for Europe. Americans are leading the tourism boom in Europe this year, with 72% of record-breaking tourist spending so far being directed towards destinations in Western Europe.
