BCR and European Investment Bank Sign Agreement for 200 Million Euro Financing for Large Companies
BCR and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have signed an agreement for the implementation of the PNRR portfolio guarantee, through which BCR will provide loans of up to 200 million euros to companies with over 500 employees. Through BCR, companies will be able to access loans of up to 25 million euros (or the equivalent in lei), guaranteed up to 80% by the EIB, for investment projects and to support working capital needed for their implementation.
The agreement supports projects that advance the green and digital transition, as well as the strengthening of economic and social cohesion, being a key instrument within the NextGenerationEU initiative.
BCR’s priority is to support and finance investments in transformative projects for Romania, aiming to promote sustainable development and economic growth.

Eligible projects for BCR financing with partial EIB guarantee
Projects eligible for financing with partial EIB guarantee include infrastructure projects targeting the development and modernization of transportation, energy, water and sanitation, as well as digital infrastructure. Additionally, projects focused on environmental sustainability, such as investments in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and ecological initiatives, are also eligible. Finally, projects related to digitization and innovation are encouraged, with a focus on advancing technological solutions for sustainable development.

Portfolio Guarantee Agreement

So far, novare has supported the co-financing of two highways – A3 and A7 – in Romania, demonstrating our commitment to infrastructure development and connectivity.
