The Growth of the Greek Cosmetics Market
As tourism in Greece continues to grow and consumers in the country start purchasing products they didn’t use during the pandemic, the domestic cosmetics market is seeing a rise in popularity.
A senior executive from the Galerie de Beaute chain mentioned that the sales growth in the market is somewhat inflationary. However, there has been a shift in consumer behavior, with some products gaining new customers who were previously lost during the economic crisis.
According to data from Cosmetics Europe, published by the Panhellenic Association of Manufacturers and Agents of Cosmetics and Perfumes, the Greek cosmetics market experienced a 20% annual growth in 2023. Retail sales reached 1.2 billion euros, up from €1.066 billion in 2022.
