Bitcoin Price Stabilizes Above $61,000
Bitcoin’s price fluctuations over the weekend have settled into a more stable condition, with the cryptocurrency holding steady at just over $61,000. Meanwhile, the altcoin market has displayed mostly positive trends, with BNB and DOGE standing out as the top performers among larger market caps.
BTC Surpasses $61K
Last weekend saw bearish activity as the leading cryptocurrency’s value dropped from $66,000 on Friday to $57,000 by Sunday evening. The situation deteriorated further on Monday, with Bitcoin’s price plunging to $49,500, marking its lowest level in approximately six months.
However, Bitcoin began to regain some of its lost value in the following days, culminating in a significant rise on Friday morning, when it nearly reached $63,000. This recovery allowed Bitcoin to reclaim over $13,000 in value within a week.
Despite this surge, the cryptocurrency was unable to sustain its momentum and experienced a slight pullback. Nevertheless, Bitcoin has managed to stay above the $61,000 mark over the past 24 hours.
Currently, Bitcoin’s market capitalization has exceeded $1.2 trillion, although its dominance over alternative cryptocurrencies has slightly diminished following a recent multi-year peak, now resting just below 54%.
DOGE Rises Significantly
In the altcoin sector, most cryptocurrencies have recorded gains in the last 24 hours, with the largest meme coin, DOGE, leading the way. DOGE has surged by 5%, reaching $0.11 for the first time in several days. Additionally, Binance Coin has also shown impressive performance, increasing by over 4% and now trading above $530.
Other notable cryptocurrencies such as ETH, SOL, XRP, ADA, AVAX, SHIB, and BCH have also experienced slight gains, while a few larger-cap altcoins, including TON, are in the red.
Among mid-cap cryptocurrencies, Aptos and FET have emerged as top performers, boasting gains of 7% and 9%, respectively.
The overall cryptocurrency market capitalization has increased by approximately $20 billion overnight, now standing at $2.245 trillion.
Market Summary
The cryptocurrency market continues to evolve, with Bitcoin maintaining its dominance while altcoins show resilience and potential for growth.
