Support Program for Small Producers in Moldova
Small producers in the Republic of Moldova, meaning businesses with an annual turnover of up to 5 million lei and up to nine employees, will receive non-repayable funding of up to 70% of the value of the investment project, but no more than 500,000 lei. The government approved today the Support Program for small producers, under which the beneficiary’s contribution will be a minimum of 30% of the project amount.
The Program will be launched in the third quarter of the current year and will be implemented for 36 months, with an estimated budget of 20 million lei annually. Entrepreneurs will be able to purchase machinery and equipment, raw materials and construction materials necessary for the equipping and setting up of the production space, franchises, digitalization solutions, and business development services with the money from these grants. According to the Government, small producers who have been active for at least 12 months can participate in the program.
Support for Entrepreneurs Starting a Business
For individuals who are just starting to plan the establishment of a business, there is an opportunity to receive support if they can demonstrate activity for the past year and register as an entrepreneurial entity within one month of project approval.
Those who do not have sufficient resources for co-financing the project can access credit sources. In this case, producers can benefit from a financial guarantee issued by the Credit Guarantee Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises,” the Government stated.
Implementation of the Program
The institution responsible for implementing the program is the Entrepreneurship Development Organization, which is set to develop an operational manual for implementation, as well as a guide for entrepreneurs.
