Government Reshuffles Key Audit Position
During today’s session, the government dismissed Afron Verzivoli from her position as the Chief Auditor of the Audit Body for the Pre-Accession Assistance Instrument. This institution manages funds received from EU sources. Verzivoli, a member of the VLEN coalition, lacked the necessary auditing license, and the EU itself responded, indicating that she did not possess the required competencies to manage this institution.
Arben Ramadani has been appointed as the Acting Chief Auditor of the Audit Body for the Pre-Accession Assistance Instrument. He is an independent auditor in the Audit Advancement Sector and has actively participated in the development of strategic documents, both short-term and long-term plans concerning the growth of the Audit Body and its auditing processes. He oversees the implementation and monitoring of these plans. Ramadani has also served as a senior auditor in the IPA audit sector, as explained by the government’s press service.
Ivan Ignjatov has been appointed as the Acting Deputy Chief Auditor. He holds a Doctorate in Economic Sciences with a focus on “Developing a System for Auditing and Control for the Efficient Use of EU Funds.”
