Mondelez Chooses Greece for Cybersecurity Center
The multinational food company Mondelez has chosen Greece to host the cybersecurity center for its operations in Europe. The Greek hub, along with another in America and a third in Asia, monitor all of the group’s facilities 24/7, seven days a week. This includes 140 factories in 78 countries and over 500 facilities.
Kostas Georgakopoulos, Chief Technology & Information Security Officer at Mondelez, emphasized in a statement that the center was established over a year ago.
Investing in Cybersecurity Education
A company in Greece, employing 31 people, is focusing on cybersecurity. Of the 31 employees, 18 are engineers and 13 are cybersecurity specialists. Additionally, 6 people are now working in major cities across the country. The company’s hub is exploring collaborations with universities in Greece to create suitable educational programs in cybersecurity.
According to Mr. Georgakopoulos, this is an investment by Mondelez in Greece with long-term prospects and planning, taking into account the high level of human capital in the country.
Expansion of Mondelez Cybersecurity Center in Greece
Mondelez International has announced plans to gradually expand its cybersecurity center in Greece, following the positive results of its operation and the company’s strong presence in the Greek market after acquiring Chipita. Currently, Mondelez employs around 1,000 people in Greece and operates three factories.
The next steps include the gradual development of the center, with the goal of increasing the number of employees to 50 within the next two years. According to Mr. Georgakopoulos, the field of cybersecurity is of particular concern to businesses, as cyber attacks are on the rise.
Protecting Your Business Against Cybersecurity Threats
In today’s digital age, cyber attacks are becoming more sophisticated and targeting vulnerable companies with cybersecurity gaps. One of the biggest threats currently is ransomware, which can cause significant damage to your business if not properly addressed.
Companies like Mondelez are receiving thousands of emails monthly, many of which are part of a phishing cyber attack. It is crucial for businesses to implement strong cybersecurity measures to protect their sensitive data and prevent falling victim to these malicious threats.
