AD MEPSO responds to power outage in Block 1 at REK Bitola
AD MEPSO has issued a response tonight to the information that due to a power outage on the power line of MEPSO, Block 1 at REK Bitola was left without electricity. According to AD MEPSO, the power line that supplies Block 1 at REK Bitola is always under voltage and there is no issue with the power supply.
After the recent power outage that left Block 1 at REK Bitola without electricity, and for which responsibility was unjustly attributed to AD MEPSO by the Plant, our company has decided to issue a statement with precise and objective information.
Electricity Supply Interruption in Bitola
Today, heavy rain and strong winds in Bitola caused a brief outage of 110 kV transmission line between TS Bitola 2 and TS Bitola 4. However, it is important to note that this outage did not affect the normal power supply to Block 1 in REK Bitola. The transmission line that supplies electricity to this block has been functioning properly and there has been no issue with the power supply, according to officials from AD MEPSO.
Therefore, they believe that shifting the responsibility for the outage at REK Bitola to AD MEPSO is unjustified and biased, to say the least.
Power Outage at REK Bitola Plant
Earlier today, a power outage occurred at the REK Bitola plant in North Macedonia, leading to the shutdown of Block 1 due to a transmission line failure. This incident was not only a technical issue but also a reflection of internal problems within the plant.
According to the information provided by the company, only Block 3 of the plant was operational after the outage, as Block 1 was left without electricity supply. The plant was disconnected from the grid around 4:45 pm due to the transmission line failure, causing Block 1 to remain offline.
As a result, the plant continued to operate with only Block 3 until Block 1 is restored. This incident not only highlights the importance of maintaining a reliable power supply but also raises concerns about the internal infrastructure of the plant.
