Ethniki Insurance Reports Losses in 2023
In 2023, Ethniki Insurance reported losses of 38.4 million euros (36.1 million euros at group level). These losses were primarily attributed to the negative impact of the old health portfolio and compensation for damage caused by Storm Daniel.
According to the company’s financial statements released last Friday, Ethniki Insurance’s life and health portfolio is divided into old and new segments. The new segment includes investment products, while the old segment suffered losses of 85.4 million euros from health insurance and an additional 60.1 million euros from Storm Daniel. However, reinsurance coverage reduced the losses from Storm Daniel to 11.9 million euros.
