Development of Maxx Royal Bodrum Hotel in Bodrum, Turkey
In the Çiftlik neighborhood of Bodrum, in the Adalıyalı area, plans are underway for the construction and operation of the luxurious 5-star Maxx Royal Bodrum Hotel. The hotel, owned by the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Ersoy, will be located on a 124,021.35 square meter plot of land comprising 325 rooms with a capacity of 750 beds.
Natural and Forested Area
According to the Environmental Impact Assessment (ÇED) report, the project site falls within the boundaries of a Tourism Center, designated as a 2nd Degree Natural Site, 3rd Degree Archaeological Site, and a protected area for the Hellenistic Tower Structure and registered cultural heritage sites. It also includes areas classified as forest land under the Forest Law.
Of the total 124,021.35 square meter project area, 95,201.52 square meters have been registered under the ownership of the Treasury as tourism designated land (TTA), with approval from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for the development by Ersoy Hotel Construction and Tourism Management Company.
Project Cost Determined as 265 Million 675 Thousand TL
A portion of the project area, measuring 25 thousand square meters, has been registered as tourism allocated area (TTA) under state ownership, and a preliminary permit request has been made for the allocation process related to the area. Another portion of the project area, measuring 3,819.83 square meters, belongs to Ersoy Hotel Construction and Tourism Operations Inc. The project cost has been determined as 265 million 675 thousand 303.42 TL.
Decision Made
A decision was made on July 24 for the five-star ‘Maxx Royal Bodrum Hotel’ project. The EIA Report was reviewed by the Review and Evaluation Committee (REC) to finalize it, and the report was open for public opinions and suggestions for 10 days at the ministry and the Directorate of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change.
