The Importance of ESG and Corporate Social Responsibility
Businesses today are increasingly recognizing the importance of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors in their operations. This was highlighted in a recent training session led by Ms. Lisa MacIlvenna, a key expert and Deputy Chief Operating Officer at “Business in the Community” from Northern Ireland.
The training session provided valuable insights into ESG and corporate social responsibility, with a focus on environmental protection. Participants gained practical knowledge and skills that can help them make a positive impact in their organizations and communities.
The commercial value of the training is 380 euros, but it is offered for free to members of the Responsible Business Club and those who wish to join the same network. This initiative aims to encourage companies to enhance their expertise and commitment to environmental protection and social responsibility.

The training is part of the USAID project “Partnerships for Giving” carried out by Connect, in partnership with the European Center for Nonprofit Law, the Chamber of Commerce of North Macedonia.
Responsible Business Club Event
In this context, the Responsible Business Club of Connect organized its first executive luncheon event, where the leadership group of the club discussed key social issues that the club strategically focuses on. The event provided a platform for exchanging views and creating opportunities for joint initiatives within the Responsible Business Club. The luncheon was attended by business leaders in top executive positions from member companies.
Sustainable Business Practices and Leadership
Directors discussed the most important issues for businesses and sustainability trends. The importance of leadership for sustainability was highlighted, as well as the need to consolidate the influence of companies through joining the Responsible Business Club at Connect. Companies will work diligently to restore values that are lacking in our society. The Importance of Education and Environmental Protection for Youth
The discussion on which the club’s programs will be based was led by Ms. Kusnikova from “Connect”, with special guest Ms. Lisa McIlvenna, a key expert and deputy operational director at “Business in the Community” (BITC) from Northern Ireland, which is a related initiative to the club founded under the patronage of His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom.

A new donation campaign is being organized by Connect, in partnership with the European Center for Non-Profit Law, the Chamber of Commerce of Northwestern Macedonia, Indigo, and the American Chamber of Commerce in North Macedonia.
