Real Estate Transactions Surge in Early 2024
In the first seven months of this year, a total of 92,044 apartments were sold nationwide, marking a significant increase of 16% compared to the nearly 79,000 transactions recorded during the same period last year.
Both Bucharest and the counties with the largest municipalities have seen a rise in the number of apartments sold. Bucharest leads as the largest real estate market, with over 28,300 homes sold between January and July 2024, reflecting an annual growth rate of 21%.
Timiș has regained its position as the second-largest market, with 5,810 transactions, surpassing Iași, which had led the rankings after the first three months of this year. Iași now holds the third position with 5,523 transactions, followed by Cluj, which recorded 5,078 transactions.
While last year Brașov was the second-largest real estate market after Bucharest, it appears to have lost momentum this year, currently ranking fifth. According to calculations based on ANCPI data, Brașov has experienced a 5% decline compared to the same period last year.
In Cluj County, transactions have increased by 9%, while Constanța County has seen an annual growth of 11%.
