Significant Increase in Passenger Traffic at Country’s Airports
Official data has shown a remarkable 11.4% increase in passenger traffic at all 39 commercial airports in the country during the first half of this year compared to the same period last year. This is a clear indication of the growing demand for air travel.
Surge in Aircraft Movement
Furthermore, there was also a 7.8% year-on-year increase in the number of aircraft arrivals and departures at the country’s airports, totaling to 242,170 flights in the first half of 2024. This shows a positive trend in air traffic and connectivity.
Continuous Growth Expected
With such significant increases in passenger traffic and aircraft movement, it is evident that the aviation industry in the country is thriving. The Civil Aviation Authority’s management of 24 airports has contributed to this growth, and we can expect this positive trend to continue in the coming years.
Passenger Traffic Reaches Record Numbers in the First Half of the Year
In the first six months of this year, the total number of passengers traveling, both domestically and internationally, reached an all-time high of 4,032,909. This is a significant increase compared to the same period last year, which saw 3,792,575 passengers passing through the airport.
The rise in passenger numbers can be attributed to a combination of factors, including the easing of travel restrictions, increased vaccination rates, and a growing confidence among travelers to resume their journeys. As more people feel comfortable flying again, airports around the world are seeing a surge in passenger traffic.
This increase in passenger numbers is a positive sign for the travel industry, indicating a gradual recovery from the impact of the pandemic. It also highlights the resilience of the aviation sector and its ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
