Decline of Industrial Properties in Northern Greece
The majority of industrial and commercial properties from once-thriving companies in Northern Greece are finding themselves unsold at auctions. A prime example is the industrial complex of “Kapnaki Michailidis” in Kilkis, which, after an unsuccessful auction in February, was put up for electronic bidding again on June 26th, starting at a price of €6.491 million. This auction also failed due to a lack of bidders.
Similarly, on July 26th, the fourth auction for the large industrial complex of TEXAPRET in Kalohori, Thessaloniki also came to naught, with no bidders showing up. The starting price for this auction had decreased from €5 million in 2021 to €3.25 million, although it was later increased to €4.2 million.
Failed Auctions Across the Region
On July 10th, the auctions for the property of Dimosthenis Toufexis A.V.E.E./Textiles-Knitting Mills in Sindos, starting at €2.910 million, and the property of Agripan at €2.239 million also did not yield any results. The same fate awaited the SERCO property at the auction on July 31st, which had a starting bid of €1.8 million, as well as the previous auction for ELOTHERM on June 19th.
Suspension of Auctions for Notable Properties
Meanwhile, auctions for prime properties have been suspended, including the “gem” building of MLS Informatics located in eastern Thessaloniki within the Technopolis area. The third auction for the once-popular entertainment venue “Mylos” in the old slaughterhouse area of Thessaloniki, held on June 26th with a starting bid of €990,000, was also unsuccessful. Additionally, an auction for the property of Marmara Ourgandzi A.E. on July 3rd, starting at €1.490 million, also failed to attract bidders.
