Record-Breaking 800 Billion Euros Expected in Europe by 2024
A new report by the European Travel Commission (ETC) on tourism expenses and travel trends, released in the second quarter of 2024 and shared with “Bloomberg,” confirms that the demand for the region continues to grow. International tourists are expected to spend a record-breaking 800 billion euros in Europe this year, according to the report. This represents a 37% increase compared to pre-pandemic levels of 583 billion euros.
Record Growth in International Tourism Arrivals
A new report from the World Tourism Organization of the UN reveals that international tourism arrivals have increased by 6% compared to 2019, setting a new record for Europe. The Americans are leading this year’s tourism boom in Europe, with 72% of the record-breaking tourist spending so far being directed towards destinations in Western Europe.
