Why Zoran Azmanov Sold His Shares in “Replek” Pharmaceutical Company
In recent times, there have been significant sales of shares in the pharmaceutical company “Replek”, which were previously owned by the construction company “Nastel” of the well-known businessman Zoran Azmanov. Factor was interested and wrote about why this long-time shareholder in “Replek”, who held a substantial percentage of the company’s shares for a long period, decided to sell from his ownership portfolio.
The answer came directly from the businessman Zoran Azmanov himself, explaining to Factor his business decision.
Investing in Construction: A Passion for Building
After discovering that the funds he now receives from selling shares in “Nastel” to “Replek” are actually intended to be reinvested in construction, Mr. Azmanov reveals his passion and primary goal for his construction company. He explains that he was unable to achieve this goal during the previous government’s rule.
“Simply put, I want to build again in Macedonia with the money, and I expect that the new government will enable me to do so. However, if that does not happen, then I will build in Greece,” Azmanov tells Factor.
In a conversation with our editorial team, he emphasizes the importance of investing in construction for the growth and development of both the country and his company. His commitment to building in Macedonia reflects his dedication and vision for the future of the construction industry in the region.
Investing in Macedonian Companies and Banks
In 2016, the businessman explained that his two companies, “Intex” and “Nastel”, acquired 12% of the shares of “Replek”. However, in recent years, he has also been buying shares in other Macedonian companies and banks listed on the stock exchange. The reason behind this was the inability to construct, despite having purchased locations for that purpose.
Over the past six years, “Nastel” has been investing in the Stock Exchange and buying shares, as we were previously placed on some secret blacklist by the previous government, which was evident in the cancellation of urban development plans where we had bought the locations with already approved permits.
The Impact of Urban Planning Regulations on Construction Permits
For six years, no new Urban Planning Regulations (UPRs) were issued, despite the legal obligation for municipalities and mayors to adopt new UPRs in case of annulment by the Constitutional Court or other institutions. This lack of regulation has had a significant impact on construction permits in Skopje, where a company that once held a 25% market share before 2016 has not received a single permit since then. This has resulted in stalled construction projects at 7-8 locations where UPRs have been revoked.
The Importance of Property Rights in Economic Development
Property rights are essential for a thriving economy, as they provide individuals and businesses with the security and stability needed to invest and grow. Without clear and enforceable property rights, individuals may be hesitant to invest in improvements or developments, fearing that their investments could be taken away arbitrarily.
One example of the importance of property rights can be seen in the case of a businessman who was unable to build on his land due to changes in zoning regulations. This restriction not only prevented him from developing his property, but also gave an unfair advantage to other construction companies affiliated with the government, who could then dominate the market.
Realizing the importance of protecting his property rights, the businessman decided to invest in shares on the stock market, as a way to secure his assets and ensure future growth opportunities. By doing so, he was able to safeguard his investments and continue to participate in the economy, despite the challenges he faced in the real estate sector.
Investing in International Stock Markets
Investing in foreign stock markets can be a great way to diversify your portfolio and take advantage of new opportunities. As someone who has experience in international investing, I can attest to the benefits it can bring. With the rise of online trading platforms, it is now easier than ever to buy stocks in foreign companies.
Transitioning to Construction Business
After years of investing in international stock markets, I am now looking to transition back to the construction business. I hope that the new government will create opportunities for me to invest in this sector once again. Recently, I have been selling off some of my shares in various companies, including “Replek”, and will continue to do so in the coming months.
Investing in Real Estate after Selling Stocks
After a successful sale of his stocks, Azmanov decided to invest the profits in real estate. He has already made 10 million euros from the stock sales and is eager to put this money into building projects in the country. However, he is willing to invest in neighboring Greece if he faces obstacles in Macedonia.
Azmanov mentions that he has always paid his taxes promptly and in full, both to the Commercial Bank and to NLB Bank. He is a responsible citizen who believes in contributing to the development of his country and neighboring regions. Selling stocks in foreign markets is also part of his investment strategy.
Investing in the Construction Sector
There are purchased locations, as well as pre-construction contracts that have not yet been realized. The only thing that the new government expects is to provide equal working conditions for all companies in the construction sector. That is, it will be fair to all competitive companies. His greatest desire is to invest his money in our country, specifically in the construction business, where he already involves his two children.
The Importance of Company “Replek”
Azmanov wants to highlight another aspect, and that concerns the work of the company “Replek.” He says that since two years ago, when he was appointed, the company has experienced significant growth.
The New Management Brings Success to the Company
Under the new leadership of Dusan Petkovski, the company Replek has seen remarkable results. Production has increased by 43%, profits have risen by 25%, and dividends for shareholders have also gone up. This shows that the new management team is steering the company in the right direction.
“If this team continues to lead Replek in this manner, the company will have a bright future. Replek is now in good hands, and I am proud to have played a part in this turnaround by replacing the previous management,” says Azmanov. He further adds that the increase in the stock price speaks for itself, indicating the positive impact of the new management.
The Importance of Swift Customer Service for a Company
Providing quick and efficient customer service is crucial for the success of any company. Customers today expect immediate responses to their inquiries and issues, and companies that are able to provide swift customer service often stand out from their competitors.
When a company responds promptly to customer queries and resolves issues in a timely manner, it not only enhances customer satisfaction but also builds trust and loyalty. Customers are more likely to return to a company that has provided them with a positive and efficient customer service experience.
Swift customer service can also help companies to maintain a good reputation and attract new customers. In today’s fast-paced world, where communication happens in real-time, companies that are able to respond quickly to customer needs are perceived as reliable and customer-centric.
Therefore, investing in a swift and effective customer service strategy is essential for companies looking to differentiate themselves in the market and build long-lasting relationships with their customers.
