Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change Announces Decrease in Housing Payments
Minister Murat Kurum of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change has announced that the increase rate of housing payments by the Housing Development Administration (TOKİ) will be reduced from 49% to 24% calculated according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
In a statement on his social media account, Minister Kurum mentioned that there is important news for hundreds of thousands of citizens who live in TOKİ residences and continue to make payments. He stated, “As you know, we were adjusting the monthly installments of TOKİ based on the salary increase of civil servants. But this time, we used the CPI rate as a reference. We have determined the increase rate as 24% instead of 49%. This way, we have provided a 50% contribution to our citizens in their installment payments. Congratulations.”
