Minister of Justice Initiates Increase in Notary Fees
The Minister of Justice, Igor Filkov, announced that he has initiated the withdrawal of the increase in notary fees. He stated that this decision was made by his predecessor, Krenar Loga, before leaving office. “The former minister made a decision that was supposed to take effect on September 1, increasing the prices of notary services by ten times. I believe that the people should not have to pay ten times more for something that was decided without broad debate, and I do not see the logic in that.”
Minister withdraws decision to increase notary fees
During today’s press conference, the minister announced that, at his initiative, the decision to increase notary fees will be withdrawn. The decision had been made in February, but it was kept hidden from the public until now.
“In the first 2-3 weeks, one of the topics that I learned from you was the notary tariff, or the decision that my predecessor had signed before leaving. I initiated a process to withdraw the decision,” said the minister.
Government Decision to Increase Notary Fees
The new minister announced his opposition to the previous government’s decision to increase notary fees without public consent. The decision to raise fees was made in February, but it was kept hidden from the public until after the elections. The minister also plans to consult with notaries to hear their opinions on the matter.
Public Outcry Against Notary Fee Hike
In response to the government’s decision to significantly raise notary fees, the new minister has expressed his concerns over the lack of transparency and public consultation in the process. He believes that the people should not have to bear the burden of such a drastic fee increase. The decision was reportedly made earlier this year, but it was not disclosed to the public until after the elections. The minister has pledged to engage with notaries to gather their input and address the issue.
