As we wrap up another week, let’s take a look at some of the standout cryptocurrencies that have shown impressive gains in the past seven days.
It’s been a good week for the crypto markets, with the total market capitalization climbing to $2.55 trillion, an increase of over $150 billion. This positive momentum has been driven by strong performances across the board, starting with Bitcoin.
Bitcoin’s 11% Surge
While not the top performer, Bitcoin has certainly made its mark this week with an impressive 11% surge in price.
Since July 14th, Bitcoin has been on an upward trajectory, as shown in the chart below.
The price of Bitcoin briefly touched the $68K mark yesterday before encountering resistance from the bears. Currently, Bitcoin is undergoing a minor correction and is trading below $67K.
Despite this, Bitcoin’s strong performance has had a positive impact on market sentiment, contributing to the overall bullish outlook in the crypto space.
Greed Takes Over the Cryptocurrency Market
It seems like greed has taken over the cryptocurrency market, with the overall sentiment score reaching 74. This marks a significant increase of over 100% compared to last week when fear was prevalent with a score of 33.
Top Performing Cryptocurrencies
In a world dominated by meme coins, it’s no surprise that four out of the top 6 best performing cryptocurrencies in the past week fall under this category.
Taking the lead is POPCAT, a cat-themed meme coin, which has seen a staggering 60% increase in value. Following closely behind is dogwifhat (WIF) with a 53% increase, PEPE with 33.6%, and FLOKI with 33.4%.
Also making significant gains are Arweave (AR) and Core (CORE) with increases of 40% and 37% respectively. Other notable mentions include INJ, BONK, JUP, RUNE, TAO, and Mantra’s OM, all of which have seen around a 30% increase in value.
Despite the overall positive trend, a few altcoins such as UNI, AAVE, TRX, TON, ADA, and EGLD are in the red. However, their losses are minimal, with UNI being the worst performer at just a 5% decrease in value.
