Wine Tourism on the Northern Black Sea Coast Gains Popularity
In recent years, wine tourism in the Northern Black Sea region has been gaining increasing popularity. Every year, Elena travels from Estonia to sample the fine Bulgarian wines. “Here, they showcase wines that are unique and unfamiliar to us. The quality of the wine is also very high,” shares the tourist.
Atenas Karageorgiev, a hotel owner and wine producer, explains to Nova TV, “There are tastings conducted by professionals. All of this is very appealing to people because it is truly well executed.” According to him, this alternative form of tourism in Bulgaria has immense potential.
Moreover, it appears that wine tourism in Bulgaria often surpasses the quality of offerings found in several European countries. In addition to tasting exquisite wines, the resort “St. St. Constantine and Helena” offers a unique experience known as grape therapy, which is exclusive to the country.
“The idea is to consume grapes in a controlled manner, under medical supervision. This is suitable for individuals without contraindications, such as diabetes, colitis, or high blood pressure. By the end of the second week, this treatment leads to an exceptionally good physiological and mental state,” Karageorgiev clarified.
