Traffic Suspension in Turkey’s Bosphorus
On Wednesday, traffic in Turkey’s Bosphorus was brought to a standstill due to an incident involving a tugboat that experienced mechanical failure while towing a ship at the northern entrance of the strait. The Bosphorus strait is a vital waterway that runs through Istanbul, connecting the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara.
According to shipping agent Tribeca, two additional tugboats were dispatched to assist with the situation and resolve the issue promptly. The Bosphorus is a busy maritime route used for the transportation of goods and resources between Europe and Asia, making any disruptions in traffic a cause for concern.
